Home, Home on the Range!!! IT'S HERE!!

Our house rolled in to its new destination of Holbrook this morning at 9:00!  Blaine got a call last night that our house was in Burley and that it was going to be here in the morning.  We were supprised and very excited because it wasn't supposed to be here until Monday.  Well actually we only have half a house as of right now.  The other half will be here Monday, so we will anxiously await the arrival of the second half.

There she is!! Beautiful sight!

I was in the middle of getting ready and Blaine ran in and said, "Heather, it's here." I ran out in the road with the camrea and took these pictures.  Blaine was in the house with Dayton and I did a little jig in the road and he saw me and was like what was that?  I told him I was just so happy!

The proud owner.

All our paper work has become reality.

The Bird's House! Dayton slept the entire time we were checking it out but he will love to have his own room.

Happy Day!

Dayton Can Smile

Oh how our little boy is growing so quickly. We both agree that life was good when it was just the two of us but now it is SO much better with Dayton. We love being the three musketeers. Dayton was learning to smile and grin at six weeks but of course we could never capture a picture of his first official smile. Between 7-8 weeks he started to smile in response to us. Oh this is really what life is all about. Blaine often reminds me that, especially after Dayton has just thrown a big crying fit, finally settles down and falls asleep on Blaine’s chest, he will turn to me and tell me “This is what life is all about”. Amazingly he is 10 weeks old this week and we think he is so adorable (if you can't tell). He has started to coo a little bit too. Dayton's favorites are; his binki, his swing, his mommy and daddy, watching mommy and daddy walking around, his baths, his bouncy chair with his woodland animal friends, and he loves being held and cuddled. I can't even begin to give him enough hugs and kisses. We love our Dayton! (When I can finally get a picture of him smiling then I will post it)!

House ABC's

Maybe the mom in me is starting to come through. I was thinking about building blocks as I walked to go see the basement being poured and then I thought they have the abc's on them. I know I am weird with my analogy but a house really is built with abc's. first it starts with A. In our case A is for Acre. Our house is built on one acre (as previously stated in our last post). B is for Basement. Our basement is being poured today. C is for concrete. The basement is made out of concrete. We are very excited to have our abc’s moving along.

The trucks are here in the freezing cold to pour!  Too bad Dayton wasn't older because he would have loved to see the cement trucks.

Looking North West

This is the front were the door will be.

Our sweet little boy.  Dayton and I walked to go see the basement (Blaine was trucking) and I bundled him up really good.  He really is our "bundle" of joy!

Look at how stinkin' cute he is!

New House!!

Blaine and I have been looking for a manufactured home to move into Holbrook for nearly a year now.  After running in to problem after problem we are finally getting somewhere with it.  At the end of December we made the decision to buy a home through Hathaways. We got approved to get a mortgage through Wells Fargo.  We have to appreciate the road blocks we have gone through because they were to our advantage.  In December we locked in our loan in at a decent interest rate but now rates have dropped and we were able to lock in at an even  lower one, so it is a good thing that we had a few road blocks to stall some time.  Dayton was not a road block, he just helped us gain a little bit more time in the process.  They broke ground today and in a few days they are going to pour the basement.  I am so excited I could jump up and down.  It just didn't seem like this was ever going to happen, like it was too good to be true and now it is.  It is very much our reality now!  WOO HOO!!

This is our new 1 acre plot of property.  It is directly behind Lance and Mandy's house.  A special thanks to them for selling us this beautiful ground.  I don't know if they know what they are getting themselves into...us as their life long neighbors...but we couldn't be more thrilled to have them as our awesome family members and great neighbors, We are lucky enough to get two for the great price of one.

This is the place where our house will be going.  The front door will face where I am standing to take the picture...south.

This is one of our many beautiful views.

The ground breaking!

Another angle of the ground breaking.

The floor plan of our new home.  There will be stairs to the basement in between the kitchen and the living room.  We are so excited!!

More Pictures of Dayton

So Dayton was fussy for his pictures we took on Valentines Day and for a few days after. It was weird because he is just not a fussy baby. He is well natured and happy most of the time so it was unusual to have a screaming baby. Well come to find out there was a perfectly good reason for the fussiness. I took him the Doctor last Wednesday because I was nervous he was sick and in the hospital they told us to be cautious and look for some signs of sickness. I found out he had Thrush...a yeast infection in the mouth and it made him colicky. Being a new mom I didn’t want to over react and take him to the Doctor just to have them tell me he had colic so it is good to know we made a good call. It was my first time driving with him in the car all by my self, Blaine was working, and it’s good to know it can be done! I am just glad that he is on the recovery side now after a week of medication and I feel better now too after a few nights of little sleep to actually be getting better nights rest. Poor little guy he has kind of had a ruff start on things but we sure do love him.  At the Doctor visit they weighed him and at 6 weeks old he now weighs 9 lbs 6 oz and he is 21 inches long.  He is growing so fast!!

As expected, we have just been snapping pictures right and left of the most adorable baby in the whole universe...so enjoy them or ignore them which ever you want.

Blowing bubbles...how adorable...it wont be in a couple of years when he is doing that in his chocolate milk.  His cheecks have really filled out now too.

Dayton and Mommy

Blaine was watching him while I was busy, got him to sleep and took this cute picture of Dayton.

Sleeping so comfortably in Grandpa's arms.

He lookes like a little 'big boy'.

On Monday, Melanie had an idea for family home evening to go ice-skating. I don’t know if it was inspired by the Olympics but it was fun anyway. We went to an indoor place in Logan. It was a lot of fun to watch everybody teetering around about to fall. Blaine and Dusty were trying to be fancy figure skaters and it was hilarious to watch. They fell only a few time which was amazing. Dayton was acting up a little bit so here are the few pictures I was able to capture. They are hard to see because of the glass that was in front of the side seats.  Everyone was able to go but Jeff and Mitch of course.  Mitch's count down is 6 weeks!!! Woo hooo!

Super Bowl, some of Dayton's Firsts and Valentines Day

Lance and Mandy invited us over to have a Super Bowl party at their house.  It was really fun to get out of the house.  Thanks Lance and Mandy for the food and fun!

Blaine and Preston watching the Super Bowl.

There's Lance and Mandy and my Mom at the party.  My Mom came to visit us for the weekend and she was also invited to the Super Bowl party.

Hannah and Dayton and I watching the Super Bowl.  Hannah-the oldest grandchild and Dayton-the youngest grandchild for the Bird family.

Dayton's first sleep over at Grandma and Grandpa Bird's house.

Dayotn's first vacation.  We went to Grandma Connie's and Grandpa Dave's house in Rexburg.

Dayton's first time wearing camo!  You can never be to young to start training a hunter.  Grandpa Dave and Dayton are camo buddies...cute cute...I mean how tough.

Dayton's first time meeting Great Grandma Bird.

Dayton's first picture with Great Grandma Sorensen.

Dayton's first time meeting Great Aunt Wendy.

Happy Valentines Day!  Blaine and I took Dayton to get his pictures taken today and he was not a happy boy which is very unusual for him.  I hope there is even one picture that turned out.  We came home and he still was miserable so I came up with a quick Valentines dinner which turnned out to be strawberry banana crepes- a.k.a. Norwegian pancakes.   They were very tasty.

My Valentine(s).  Dayton is finally calmed down after his long rough day.  He just needed to be cuddled by Daddy.  Happy First Valentines Day Dayton!

My Thoughtful Husband

I was having a hard day on monday due to adjusting to the new mom thing and because the progress on our new house seemed to be going in the hole.  Blaine could sense the stress I was feeling and supprised me with flowers the next day!  What a sweetheart!  He is so good to me.  Since Dayton was born we both have put him first in everything because he depends on us so much.  It was very thoughtful of him to do a nice thing just for me.

I also have been craving chocolate like crazy but I can't have it because it makes Dayton sick and because I can't have it I want it even more.  So Blaine also supprised me with some non-chocolate treats.

This Chex Mix is defiantly my new favorite...Yummmmm!  So much for loosing baby weight.  I devoured the entire bag.

A couple pictures of our sweet Dayton...

Dayton and daddy taking a nap together

Check out his lip...he always does this.  He sucks in the bottom right side.
