Out Dayton's Mouth

Dayton is a sweet, fun, crazy, excited, curious...etc, almost 3 year old (in a few weeks :( ).  Crazy how time flies.  He tells me the funniest things and I laugh daily at the things he thinks of and says. 

 In October we were at Wal-Mart and the Christmas trees were set up, he spotted them and started screaming, "I see Christmas".  We were amazed that he even remembered what Christmas was.  When I put on my make-up he turns to me and says, "Mommy messy".  His imagination has just exploded. He walks by the stairs and says, "sh..be quiet, dragon down stairs". He pretends to read stories with his hands and says," Upon a time".  He plays hotel elevator in the doorway of our laundry room. Sings and dances to every song and movie he watches.  He loves Mary Poppins, Polar Express, Little Einstein’s, Curious George, And most recently Rudolph. He sings, "Do down the medicine, go down the medicine" and "Step in time".  From Rudolph he sings, "do do do a misfit".  He calls Salt and Pepper, "sepper".  He has 'me', 'you', and 'my' confused and it is so cute I hate to correct him.  He says, "Mommy hold you me".  When I interrupt to help him, he says, "No, my do it". Two weeks ago he had a hard time going to nursery because there was a substitute in the class and a visitor. He didn't recognize them and he screamed for about 5 minutes (I had to teach a lesson or I would have stayed to help him).  After church I asked him why he had a hard time and he said, "Mommy weave you, me".  My heart melted.  I have gotten brave and taken away his binki.  He hasn't had since Friday November 30^th! Yay! I just was getting tired of his crying for it all the time and his behavior was crummy. I knew it was getting bad when he walked in our room one morning and said in a crying voice, "mom, I can't find my binki." If he could say that whole sentence then I knew it was time! I now read and read to him before bed and nap time, then I tuck him in and he usually says something cute and out of the blue like, “I like Christmas” or “Jesus loves me” it is new each time but these two I remembered. He has all the excuses to get out of bed too like, "My hungry; I need a drink; I have to go potty; Mom, I have a bloody nose".  Don't ask me where he got that one!  Every morning I ask him what he wants for breakfast and he replies pancakes.  I get tired of the same old pancakes so I asked him if we could have blueberry pancakes and he said, “No, green”.  He calls Grandma and Grandpa "Gwamma" and "Cappa".  I ask him questions and he has just started to answer with ,”sure”.  The other day I went to cut his nails and he threw a big fit I asked him if he wanted to go to time out and he said yes.  He must think time out is better then getting nails cut.  When I was rinsing out his hair in the tub I got finished and he said, “not so bad”!  Just now when I was ignoring him to write this post he was playing with his trains and got upset and started to scream I yelled to him what is the matter and he said, “My frustrated”.  It seriously is an adventure with little ones who are exploring the world!  We love our little darlings!

Macey's photo shoot

Our sweet little Macey is growing like an incredibly, adorable, cute weed!  We love this little addition to our family! She is so sweet! She is cooing and talking to us and her toys everyday.  She loves her older brother who in return loves her just as much, and is very protective of her.  She has had a real belly giggle and laugh for about a month now and it is priceless.  Two weeks ago she started to rub her eyes when she was tired.  I love this!  I can finally tell when she is tired rather then just crying.  Wow, she is 4 months old now I can’t believe it!  I remember when I was pregnant thinking she will be so much fun at Christmastime and now it is here in the bink of an eye.  She is a beautiful , wonderful baby.  We couldn't have asked for a better girl then her.  She slept through the night for the first time November 30^th.  YAY!!  She weighs 14 lbs 5 oz and is 25 inches long. We are so blessed to have such a sweet spirit in our home to love, laugh with and enjoy.

Happy Halloween!

I love fall and Halloween it my favorite time of the year.  It is the jump start it the holidays and so I take advantage of it.  Here is our festivities through the month of October.

Our little girl is growing up soo fast.  She had her 2 month check up early in October and she was in the 80th% for her weight and 60th% for her height. I thought she would follow Dayton's pattern but she is growing much faster then he did!

  

Daddy went hunting a lot this month so the kids and I spent time at home. These pictures are 2 different occasions when Blaine got home probably after a hunting trip and fell asleep with Macey. It is so sweet!

Dayton and I making Halloween cookies!  He was so cute and patient waiting for me to help measure and pour ingredients.  After they cooked and cooled he was excited to frost them.  He told me he was "paint'n cookies".

Blaine is of course the creative one on the left.  Mine in the middle, I pretty much drew the face and Blaine did the rest Macey was being a stinker and I had to help her.  Blaine also did Dayton's pumpkin as an elephant his favorite animal.

We went trick or treating around Holbrook with Mandy and the kids then went to the park for our ward party and potato bar. I was Mary Poppins, Macey was peas in a pod, Dayton was a dinosaur and Blaine was dressed in one of is late Grandpa Bird's old suits with cowboy boots. So Fun.

Dayton loved trick or treating. It didn't take long for him to catch on, say trick or treat and that equals candy! Macey slept the entire time.

Our nest of Four

Here is a quick over view of what has been happening the last few months with Macey in our family.

We have had a fabulous summer, we haven't even had time to slow down and it has been so much fun. I figure we can slow down in the long winter months ahead. The second child grows up so much faster than the first, I feel like I am missing it and she is only 2 months old.  We have taken her all over the place and last week she even had her first ride in the semi. (I forgot to get a picture because with the second I seem to do that a lot) but here are some of the pictures when I have remembered to pull the camera out.

(I just looked at the calender and noticed in one month today Blaine and I will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary. Time flies, but we never let the little moments slip away).  Hope you all enjoy the pictures of our little family as much as we do!!  

Dayton is a proud big brother and very protective of her! Grandpa Bird teases him and says, "My Macey" and Dayton doesn't like that so he responds louder and more energetically, "My Macey"!

Silly silly Dayton, he wants to try out all the new baby gear in our house and it is so cute he thinks he fits! Well at least I thought it was cute, until he sat in and about broke my life saver....the swing!

So Sweet!!

We went to the Eastern Idaho State Fair twice this fall. This particular time we met up with my parents.  The other time we went with Blaine's parents. We love the fair it is so much fun and we especially love the food!!

  Blaine let me sleep in one morning and I woke up to find this!

We got to experience our new temple open house (Brigham City) and it was so much fun to take our little family into the temple.

It was so nice of Blaine's parents to take us to the open house, after we enjoyed a very yummy dinner at Maddox!

It is a beautiful temple, but more importantly is was so nice to enjoy the spirit we felt there. We know this is the Lord's house and it is His work that is done inside the walls of this beautiful building!

Dayton loved to see the temple! He kept telling us after we got home that he wanted to go to the temple again, I hope he can remember the feeling he had inside so that he will want to return when he is older.

Macey has been smiling since she was 2 weeks old. Her smiles are just getting bigger and brighter! We are so blessed to have this beautiful little girl in our home! (She is 9 weeks old and has a ear infection in this picture and is still smiling)

Our garden Dayton loved to go out and pick the peas...He would say, "Peas, sooo good"!

Blaine was the caretaker of our garden this summer, do to me being pregnant and then having a new baby. All summer long there was never a weed because he took such good care of it. We were able to get 25 quarts of beans and I told him it was because he was the farmer not me. That is amazing for a brand new garden. 

Dayton found one of Macey's bows and next thing I found was this, he knew it went in her hair.

It is so much fun to have a toddler and a baby.  I went to pick her up and I found Dayton had helped her get toys. He wants her to play with him pretty badly. I hope they will be good little friends when she can actually play!
